Another Great Weekend

Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone has had a weekend as relaxing and rewarding as mine. Before I go on, I just have to show you the following link. I found this lady's blog through the Scrapbooks and More website, and I was incredibly moved by an entry she made on Feb 16 about a lady she knew with cancer. THIS is why we scrapbook people.....
amybergman.typepad.com
This lady has some amazing scrapbooking work in addition, that I have been admiring. Check out this paint tin!!

My own weekend was again, so short. On Friday afternoon, we went and got some more plants (I havent yet planted though). I have two new ones next to the front door. - Total cost: $42 what a bargain!(see below - very funky!)
Yesterday morning Chelsea and I went to dancing. She was just perfect in every way... I am so proud of her. I took the camera along and got some video of her dancing, as well as some like the one above. When we got home, William and I went into Ipswich to a Renovation Salvage yard. They had some amazing stuff there. God I could have gone wild if we had the money. Hopefully one day when we get the deck I can get a huge pair of cedar french doors. mmmmmm.... (drooling) LOL.

Yesterday afternoon I had to do the weekly clean of the house and then started early cooking lasagne and roast lamb. Dinner with the family this week was at our house. I love Saturday nights. The whole family gets together at either Mum&Dads, or Aimee's or our house. We all eat and laugh and watch videos and chat about everything. The boys go down the shed or out in the yard to look at whatever it is that they look at, and the girls all sit inside chatting, gossiping and laughing at my showoff daughter!! I am so glad our family is so close. I really feel alot closer to Aimee as well - more so than I ever have before. I guess as you get older, three years age difference is really nothing. Mum and I are going to the craft show in Brisbane in April - can't wait. Hopefully next year for mums birthday, Aimee and I will take her to Sydney to tour all of the country and craft stores they have down there, as well as to see all of the old sites, which I am sure have now changed. Mum will be 50! next year. She is still so youthful, and doesn't act 50 (or look it for that matter!).

This morning Chelsea and I went to the flea markets. I ran into Julie, Jessica and Dale there, who are going to DISNEYLAND in about 6 weeks!!! LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY!!!! They are then touring around America for around 3 weeks and then stopping in New Zealand for a few days on the way home. I hope they have a ball - can't wait to see the photos.

I got Chelsea this beautiful patchwork wallhanging with a little ballet bear on it. It is hanging up in her room and is so cute!! Will post a photo this week. I also stopped at some other shops on the way home and got another set of shelves for my 12x12 scrapbooking cardstock - excellent. I am still trying to persuade William to build in under the stairs to make my own little scrap nook. (He rolls his eyes whenever I mention it) LOL. When we got home, William's mum and David were here. David and William made another nest box for the chooks so the three little ones have somewhere to go when they start laying. They took some posts out around the yard and stuff as well.

Chelsea is obsessed with this toy cash register I bought for her today. It is so cute to see her FINALLY playing with her toys alone.

I also finally got stuck into painting the main bathroom on Friday night. I have only done one coat so far, but it looks really good. (got to bed at 2am on Saturday morning though!) Must go now, (after posting one or two more special photos that is). Enjoy the coming week, hugs, susan

Don't Wish your Life away

Well, another working week is well underway. I have had an absolute mongrel of a week so far at work, I don't wish to divulge the details, but believe me, I am so glad to drive into that garage in the afternoon.

Last night joined in Scrapbooks 'n more scrap chat from 8-9pm and I was really surprised at how many ladies were on there. Its so nice to talk to someone who enjoys the same craft for a change. Mum does practically every single craft EXCEPT scrapbooking, Aimee gave it up for lack of time, and my other friends are all into other things, so I am glad I can finally talk scrapping with someone for a change!!

Only 3 weeks 2 days till my 24th birthday. OMG how my life has flown already. Before I know it, I will be a grandmother. My boss David told me the other week not to wish my life away, after I complained how I couldn't wait until the weekend. I really thought about that comment, and I would have to say, that I agree.

For the last 6, or 7 years, since I have been out on my own with William, its always been, oh when we get this or when we get that, or one day. But I have now realised, this is my life. If I don't start enjoying and making the most of what I have now, then I will be looking into the future - Wishing my life away - for the next 70 years.

A work colleague recently welcomed his third child (Harry) into the world - with the great help of his wife of course!! The week of little Harry's birth, I couldn't help wondering when William and I would have another little one ourselves, to love and play with Chelsea. For all of Chelsea's two 1/2 short years, I have always been pushing, looking forward to her next milestone.

At this stage I'm really not sure if we will be able to have another one, and in a way, I'm sad that I didn't savour the 2 1/2 years even more.

My resolution for this year, was to slow down, savour the moment, and enjoy what we have now, as opposed to pining for things that we don't.

My little girl is growing up way to fast to wish her life away, and so am I..

Our Sadly Short Weekend

Where oh where does the weekend go?

We have been so busy and gotten so much done over the last 2 1/2 days. Last night we went to mum and dad's for dinner, ended up getting home at about 12.30 am!!!

No wonder I slept in this morning. Dad and Andrew showed us their new Honda Odyssey, a buggy that dad bought on ebay. (I will post a photo after this entry).

Dave and William got to have a drive around on it down the back yard, Chelsea is absolutely terrified of it, the motor is about twice as loud as a ride on mower. Today we went out and got my (terribly early) birthday present. MY NEW DIGITAL CAMERA!!! Yay!!

I got a Kodak Z740 5.0 megapixel and 10x optical zoom, with a photo printer. I got to open my present today - about three weeks early, because my old faithful Olympus, is in pieces, after being in my handbag and getting dropped on the bench. Au revoir old faithful, its been a great 2 years......

Yesterday arvo, I got out with the shovel and shears and started cleaning up the area around where the spa used to be. Since its been moved under the pergolah, we are having a smaller oval garden with the palms, frangipanis and rainforesty type stuff and then extending the lawn further over. Needs to be more kid friendly. So I made a little area with rocks and plants, where I can sit in the shade and relax. Bamboo wind chimes and all, it really is special!!
The house is coming along very nicely, and I am so proud of what we have done so far!!!

Going to do some more scrapping tonight, providing the panadol works on my headache. Too much heat and not enough water I think these days. Will start posting some photos of my fav. scrap pages soon, I'm a bit sensitive about what people will think of them!

Stay safe and enjoy the coming working week!
