Galloping off into the sunset

The things they get up to when mummy goes out!! Yes - Chelsea is in his cot with him!

On the Mic

Our Little Ikea Baby

Heya - I'm just, um, hiding?

We have been kept quite busy recently with the usual mid-year kinds of things. Chelsea danced in an eisteddfod in June. She has three solos now and got two 1sts and one 2nd. She came home with trophies and prize money totalling $27 so she was totally rapt. She turned 5 just over one week ago, and surprise surprise, got a Nintendo DS. It is very difficult to share a DS between a household of people who all want to have a go!!! I'm sure the novelty will wear off before long though. We just had a small family get together this year at home. A few weeks ago, we found out that she has been accepted into the Catholic Private school that we chose, for Prep next year, so we are very happy about that - just one thing less to worry about.

Will is enjoying his new job, he has been studying for the last two weeks for two exams which he will sit tomorrow, which is not an easy thing to do with two littlies running around!

Rhys.... hmmm... Rhys.... THE REFLUX HAS FINALLY STOPPED!!!!
Hooray, finally on his 5th different formula, we have had success. I must admit though, we did have an incident this evening, but he was coughing and must have lost control a bit lol. I was almost at my wits end with trying to cure the endless throwing up, and I am so appreciative now!! He rolled over for the first time yesterday (back to front) and reaches out for toys. Everything - EVERYTHING goes into his mouth, which also has a permanent stream of dribble coming out of it. He is turning out very much like his big sister, a very bright and observant little boy who is always laughing.

I have actually stepped back a bit with work, since going back after my maternity leave. I hate it, because I have had a taste of the life at home, looking after the kiddies, and now that I had to go back and leave them, it was very hard. Unfortunately, there are certain things that we want in the future that rely on my income in addition to William's lol, so at work is where I must stay, at least for the time being.

We have all been sick this week. I started off the line-up and ended up having two days off. My right ear has been blocked for about 5 days - and its starting to get a little irritating, I have started lipreading!! lol

Aimee and David's wedding is fast approaching and I believe everything is pretty much finished from what Aimee tells me. I am the Maid of Honour, Will is a groomsman and Chelsea is the flowergirl. Hope we get some nice photos of Will and I dressed up together, which is a rarety!
Last night was Aimee's hens night and we went to a Brazilian Club. The meal was great and the Brazilian dancers were unbelievable - it was a really good night out, despite the traffic in the city! - You can so tell that I don't do that type of thing often!!

And in closing, to answer the obligatory questions:
1. Yes we still have the block
2. No the house is not built yet
3. No we have not started building yet
4. Yes I am scared about the prospect of starting this project eventually!!

After so long

I have been meaning to blog for so long, but I now have a little boy who likes attention!! Rhys is now 10 weeks old and around 15lb. What a big boy! He is smiling all of the time and occasionally works up enough energy for a little cackle too. I am going back to work in 3 weeks and I know I will find it hard in the first week to be away from both of the kids after such a long time. He has had problems with Reflux from 5 weeks old, which means alot of extra washing and alot more crying. We have to make sure not to move him around too much after his feeds and to keep him upright. He has an AR Formula now and also has Mylanta after feeds, which seems to have helped alot, so hopefully he will grow out of it soon! Chelsea is embracing the big sister role. We were a bit taken aback by her behaviour for the first two months, then all of a sudden, she got over it - and is great now. We are in the midst of the Eisteddfod season at the moment and her two new group dances got a 1st and 2nd at the one eisteddfod in April, and two 1sts a couple of weeks ago. There is another one coming up next week.
William has a two day course today and tomorrow for his new job which he starts on June 10. He is very excited and I am so happy to see him motivated and looking forward to a new career.

I must be off now, this kitchen is not going to clean itself!!

Rhys' Christening

On Sunday we had Rhys' beautiful Christening at this beautiful Cathedral. Chelsea was christened there as a baby and I was christened there also, 26 years ago this weekend. The service was so special and I remember holding Rhys over the Font as the water washed over his head, so proud to have him. We had a lovely day and a small get together back at home for lunch. His Godparents are William's good mate Chris (you may remember him as our Best Man at the wedding) and my sister Aimee.

Our Family Portraits

Every year around April/May we get family portraits taken. Generally I only buy one or two, just to have a record of us that year, but this year, especially as we have Rhys as well, I bought quite a few. Isn't digital photography a wonderful thing!? These are so gorgeous and I am so happy with them.

Our New Arrival!

'The Rhys Man' in hospital with mummy
Welcome to the World

Rhys William

Born 18th March

Weight 4580grams or 10lb 1oz

Length 53cm
Head Circumference 36.5cm

We were induced at around 11.30pm on 17th March and it was again attempted at 9.00am on 18th March. Waters were broken by the doctor at 1.20pm and Rhys was born naturally just under 5 hours later. So far he is a placid and content baby and has hardly made a peep since being born!

Mummy and Daddy are very proud to finally have a little boy to complete their family and big sister Chelsea just wants to cuddle him all the time!

Sound asleep on his first day home - Good Friday
The Easter bunny came to our house!!

One for all of the NRL fans out there!! Daddy has already brought him a Broncos Jersey as well

What a proud big sister
