Early Christmas at 'Grandma and Grandads'

Every year we go up to Will's mum and Stepdad David's house (Grandma and Grandad) for an early Christmas. They live out in the country amongst fields and fields of crops and its always great to go out there for some fresh air. Chelsea got spoilt, we had a delicious Bbq lunch and admired the beautiful fields and gardens, as well as the change of weather as the afternoon rolled on.

This storm was rolling in as we left about 2pm. David 'orders in' a storm every year we come up for Christmas!

Carols By Candlelight

Last Friday we went to the Big Carols by Candlelight at the Turf Club. Ipswich really excelled with their choice of performers and the whole atmosphere of the event. We really enjoyed the night, especially Santa arriving in the Channel 10 helicopter! After waiting and waiting, Chelsea fell asleep and then slept right through the amazing fireworks.

Our Star

My littlest sister is so amazingly talented on the Stage - We are all so proud of you Meag!

Thats 3 - 3 bedrooms finished!!

Wow! I am so happy with the end result of my weekends work on our 3rd Bedroom. This room has always been the ugly duckling in the house - dirty walls and a horrid floor and window frames. Friday I just got the bug and went and bought this lovely colour - 'smoothie'. Painted the room Friday night and spent half of yesterday and today decorating. The computer is now in here, giving us more space out in the loungeroom yet again. My scraproom has now been restored to its former glory - I tried shifting all my scrapbooking stuff downstairs, but the 'Feng Shui' mustn't have been right or something, because I never went down there. Now that I have a gorgeous room and all my stuff set out properly, I should get right back into it!!

Yesterday Chelsea had her very last Kindermovement class, next year she will be going up to Tinies ballet, Jazz and Tap - I am so excited!! Her and Meagan had their Concert Dress Rehearsal today, I thought my batteries were flat in the camera, so I didn't take any photos at first, then realised later they were fine, so I don't have any photos of Chicko's Action Hero Costume until the Concert next week. Meagan looked gorgeous in all her costumes and dances as usual. She is doing a solo in the matinee which is quite an honour - not many are chosen to do that.

Today was terribly hot!! A very dryyyyyyyyyyy heat. This afternoon I went and had a nap and woke up to rumbles of thunder and flashing lightning. We got heaps of rain - our yard is so lush and green, we have TOO much water at times - between the tank, the washing water, the shower water and what we have saved in buckets from other times. Will keeps putting the empty recycling bin under the overflow of the tank each time it rains and that fills up - I just hope things never change and we always have this much water in our yard. Tomorrow is back to work - I am enjoying myself at work at the moment, despite the fact that we have no airconditioning - long story, a new one will arrive at the end of January. I try to grin and bear it because the guys at work have to work in the blazing heat of the sheds with no air con, so I know that I'm lucky to have it usually anyhow.

4 weeks to Christmas hey? Santa has been doing some shopping around for Chelsea Leah - he told me a secret that a little girl might get a very big present for the backyard - ONLY if she's a good girl! $anta must have been doing some overtime! LOL

Hope your christmas shopping is going a bit better than mine - I have hardly started. Enjoy your beautiful summer week! Love Suzi xo Posted by Picasa

Our Christmas Party - At long last!!!

We had a fantastic view of the track

Me loving the camera baby!!

Phil and Dale being their usual selves

I have had a fantastic weekend!!!! Woo! I love Christmas, and I love getting together with friends. On Friday night we went to Renee's house for a night of Karaoke, cocktails, dancing and most of all LAUGHING! All of us girls used to work together and although we have all moved on in our lives, we still get together to party and catch up - We always make the most of it too.

Before Renee's on Friday night, we went to the local Christmas Carols, where Meagan was asked to do a Solo. She was beautiful and did her dance perfectly. Chelsea thought it was great to see the singing and dancing but we had to go early before santa arrived, but thats ok, we might go see the Christmas parade when its on soon.

Last night was our work Christmas Party. We went to Silks Restaurant and holy moly was there some food there!! I have never seen so much seafood in my life! I told myself that I would have an oyster, but when it came to the crunch, I just couldn't do it! Thats ok, the crab and prawns amongst other things, more than satisfied all of us!

We went down by the track and in the stables to see the horses and by the end of the night, started to get (just a little) rowdy! We all caught a maxi taxi home and dropped off everyone but Dale, Phil and myself - we went out drinking for some time after. When I get a night off, I have to make the most of it! Ended up walking through the front door at about 3am this morning, so I got a little sleep in this morning.

We have the airconditioner on today because the temperature is just phenomenal - you look outside and there's that real hazy look to the sky. Will has temporarily installed the airconditioner downstairs so he can watch the cricket in comfort on the big screen, hopefully by the end of the year we will have a permanent air conditioner installed down there. This afternoon will be swimming and more laughing at mum and dads. We have not all got together for a long time at home - its so busy right now.

Enjoy your week - Party on and drink up! Suzi xo Posted by Picasa

The new 'dry creek bed'

Remember this photo? October 06

The almost finished product - Taken today

We have a creek bed in our backyard!

Well guess what, I'm sick again. I've lost count of how many times this year it is now. I have pretty much lost my voice which has made William happy, but if I really need to yell, I get it out! Saturday I worked in the morning and then again in the afternoon, some more overtime to add to the kitty. Last night we had Kylie and Troy over for a barbie, which was fun and then this morning Troy and William played golf. William is a brand newie! He said he had quite a good time, so looks like we're in the market for some golf clubs now.
Chelsea and I went out early this morning to the local nursery and brought home some cute plants for our 'dry creek bed'. You know how weeks ago I said I wasn't putting photos of the 'big garden' on the blog until I was happy with it? Well, I'm happy now. It still isn't completely finished, we need more plants, the ones in there to get bigger and also a few more rocks, but on the whole, I love it. It will remind us how important it is to save water.
After about 3pm this arvo, I got, well, 'sick of working in the garden' and basically told William that I was not doing anything outside ever again. (Sound familiar?) I spent this afternoon changing Chelsea's room around, packing away some of her baby books and toys, and bringing out some 'big girls toys' that we had packed away that were mine when I was little. Mum gave me this 'hi hopper' that used to be Meagan's and we blew it up today. Chicko loves it! Up and down the hallway she went. Anyhow, I am off to make a ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich for dinner (its GYO get-your-own tonight). Then a shower and relax for the week ahead. Enjoy your week Suzi xo
